Causes of Homosexual Behavior

On May 21, 1996 the Supreme Court of the United States revokes a provision of the State of Colorado, which nullified the protection of laws to protect homosexuals from discrimination. On May of 1998 former Democrat President Bill Clinton advocates the right of homosexuals not to be discriminated against. The day of 21 of  February of  2013 the current President of the United States Barack Obama also of the Democratic party publicly declares his identification with the struggle of homosexuals for the recognition of gay marriage. Both the decision of the Supreme Court as that of former President Bill Clinton and the current President Barack Obama of advocating non-discrimination of homosexual in the army and other branches of Government, as well as marriage between persons of the same sex are wrong.

Former President Clinton, as the current President Obama, as the Supreme Court of the United States part in their judgments of two mistaken premises. The first one is that homosexuality is innate and cannot be learned, or neither cannot be promoted. The second is that it is wrong to discriminate against the conduct that is the result of innate and therefore natural biological inclinations. Both assumptions are wrong. The first premise will be discussed under the titles:

1. Cultural Bases of the Homosexual Conduct Among the Heterosexual

2. Physiological Bases of the Homosexual Conduct Among Heterosexuals

and it is the subject of the next two topics. The second premise will be discussed under the titles.

3. Is Homosexuality a Sexual Preference?

4. Can the Sexual preference be the basis so that the Homosexual behavior is an Individual Decision or is Homosexual conduct a collective Decision?

5. Are homosexuals a minority group?

6. The Basic Unit of the System Values Reproduction in the Society is the Marriage Between a Man and a Woman

The last four titles are the themes of the remaining topics.

As noted in Chapter 3 "Summary of Sociological Theory on Homosexuality" homosexual behaviour can have two causes or origins. It can have a cultural base and therefore learned, as well as also a biological basis and, therefore, innate. Let's see.

Cultural Bases of the Homosexual Conduct Among the Heterosexual

Social values define those patterns of behavior that when everybody follows them they lead to the well-being of the collective.  The social values are part of the culture of peoples. When you change the values of a people, is also changed an aspect of the culture of this people.

The heterosexual behavior of a people is part of the culture of that people and is determined by the values of that culture with regard to sexual conduct that is considered acceptable, correct or good vs. sexual conduct which is considered unacceptable, incorrect or bad.  For example, it is normal that in a society with an heterosexual culture the heterosexual behavior is valued as acceptable, correct, or good, and the homosexual behavior is valued as unacceptable, incorrect or bad.  On the contrary, it is normal that in a society with an homosexual culture the heterosexual behavior and the homosexual behavior is valued in the same way as acceptable, correct or good conduct.

It Is for that reason that in the history of Rome, Greece and other civilizations can be seen periods where the acceptance of homosexual conduct increased and therefore its practice.  Once you change the heterosexual cultural values for the homosexual values, society evolves from an heterosexual to an homosexual.

When contemporary society, through the courts, the legislature and the Executive criminalizes and penalizes the holding of values that reject the homosexual conduct as unacceptable, incorrect or bad, it is forcing a change in the culture of the people from an heterosexual culture to an homosexual culture.  The cultural change will not be in the short term.  It will take 4 to 5 generations, that is. 80 to 100 years to see the cultural transformation of the society.

The Theory of Homosexuality by Cultural Learning is a psycho-sociological theory on homosexuality which establishes that homosexual conduct, as well as the heterosexual, is learn from existing social values in the culture about heterosexual behavior and homosexual behavior. According to this theory, homosexual conduct learning depends on the not holding of the anti-gay values in people.  That is, homosexual conduct learning depends on the uninstallation in the psyche of the people of the values that established that homosexual conduct is bad or negative.  As a result, according to this theory, the systematic removal in the persons of these anti-gay values by the institutions of the State has the effect of induce and encourage homosexual behavior in the society in the long term.

If this theory is correct, then the decisions of the Supreme Court and the laws of the legislature to criminalize public expressions against homosexual behavior and, accordingly, to criminalize the possession of anti-gay values, have the effect of promoting homosexuality in society in so far as they uninstall these values in people.  The same applies to laws that legalize homosexual behavior and same-sex marriage.  These laws have the effect of setting new values in the culture of the peoples in the sense that homosexual conduct is acceptable, correct or good.  These values are contrary to the traditional values of the culture which state that homosexual conduct is unacceptable, incorrect or bad.

Until today the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as those of the legislature and the Executive, in the field of creating laws and regulations that criminalize public expressions against homosexuality, are based on the premise that homosexual behavior has a single biological origin.  That is, it is presumed that homosexual conduct is just innate and that cannot be learned as an element of culture.  As a result, it is presumed that homosexuals are a minority group.

If the assertion of this new sociological theory is correct, in the sense that homosexual behavior is learned and can be encouraged as an aspect of the culture of the peoples, then the people who practice homosexuality cannot be considered as a minority group.  In addition to the previous conclusion there is another conclusion that arises.  If this theory it is correct in the sense that the homosexual behavior can learn and be transmitted as a custom of the culture, then the legislation and the decisions of the Supreme Court that criminalize in the persons the holdings of valued against homosexual behavior has the effect of encouraging in the society the gradual transition from an heterosexual society to a homosexual society.

If this theory is correct, and describes reality, within the term of 80 to 100 years, that is for the year 2112, the American society will have undergone a transition from a heterosexual to an homosexual society where more than 30% of its population will be homosexual.

Physiological Bases of the Homosexual Conduct Among Heterosexuals

The homosexual conduct may be innate, in the case of individuals biologically oriented toward such conduct, as well as it can be learned, in the case of heterosexuals or individuals not biologically oriented toward such conduct. The last has its origin in the physiological basis of human eroticism or sexual pleasure. Every man by more male who sits can derive pleasure from the stimulation of the anus. The anus is a sensitive organ that produces pleasure when it is stimulated through penetration with any object. The anus can be stimulated with the penetration of the finger, an object or a penis. Any man, just like any woman can derive pleasure from the stimulation of the anus. Skin, similar to the mouth and other body organs produce sexual pleasure or gratification when it is stimulated, no matter who the person who produces the caress or which object (vibrator, artificial penis, etc.) or animal (dog that licks the sexual organs or bestiality with different animals, etc.).

We see, therefore, that both men and women can derive pleasure of any caress in the skin or in the mouth or genital organ, no matter who the human being or the object or animal that produces the caress. Why then heterosexuals feel repulsion and displeasure of having homosexual relationships? The answer is the teaching of social values that regulate sexual behavior of the individuals living in the society.  These values are part of the culture of peoples. If you change these values a very important aspect of the culture is changed.

Human beings are the only animal that has values and which governs their behavior based on these values.

Values, once instilled and installed in the psyche of individuals have the power to activate or cause unpleasant. Society instills the individual value of that being gay is bad. Once instilled that value, the homosexual conduct produces displeasure, disgust, shame, etc. But there is no physiological impediment so that man or woman may not derive pleasure from the stimulation of the anus or any other part of the body no matter whoever that produce that stimulus. The impediment is not physical but emotional. The violation of the value produces very intense unpleasant emotions and affective states that away him from such conduct. If this negative value is removed, you can then derive pleasure from homosexual behavior. That is precisely what makes the legislation to prevent the discrimination of the society against homosexual behavior.

Similarly there is no physiological impairment that prevents an individual derive pleasure from sexual intercourse with their parents or children. The vagina of the mother or daughter or father or son penis have the physiological ability to generate orgasm in any incestuous relationship. The only reason why sexual intercourse with the mother or the children produce nausea, horror, disgust, repugnance, etc., is by an educational factor which has its origin in the teaching and inculcation of values. Since a child the society instills in the individual value of that incestuous relations are bad and abominable. Once installed the value on the individual psyche the idea of executing such conduct produces shame, disgust, displacer. Individuals who for some reason have not installed values regarding incestuous sexual behavior have sex with their fathers, sons or brothers. Since these individuals do not experience the emotion shame or the emotion disgust, they can then enjoy freely with their daughters or sons or parents of sexual pleasure that produces the physiological stimulation of their bodies no matter who is the person that stimulates them are.

Similarly there is no physiological impediment that would prevent any individual to derive sexual pleasure from children. The reason why pedophilia is not spread extensively in society lies in the values that were instilled and installed in individuals and that they are part of their culture.

These values set that it is bad that men practice homosexuality, as well as incest, as well as pedophilia. These values once installed on the individual will activate him unpleasant sensations when you approach these behaviors or abstract objects. These values can coexist with the installation of other values that are inconsistent with them, as for example, the value of that being gay is not bad. In the long run, perhaps in the following generations, a value manages to fully prevail over others and then there will be consistency between them.

That is why we constantly see people who commit incest. As they do not have these values installed in their psyche, can't react emotionally and affectionately before the violation of the values and because not cause them embarrassment, nausea disgust, etc., they can enjoy the act.

Certainly there are innate factors in behavior. There are people who are genetically more sex appeal by persons of the same sex. In other words, biologically are they excited sexually more easily in the presence of someone of the same sex. However, is genetic also that a large proportion of older persons is erotically easier with young people that with people of his own age or older. Similarly at the end of the normal curve, there are people who feel genetically more sex appeal, not with young people, but with the children. These are pedophiles. In other words, biologically are they excited sexually more easily in the presence of a child than in an adult. The phenomenon consists in that the presence of a child, rather than produce excitement tenderness as a reaction biologically innate in most individuals, produces the emotion erotic or sexual arousal. In real life we find hundreds of examples of these cases daily. So much so that there is an industry of magazines and videos of child pornography that makes millions of dollars selling to people with these biological trends. Similarly, in certain Eastern cultures is normal, not only prostitution, but the practice of marrying at age of childhood. There are extreme cases of people who are sexually attracted by infants of months born. The news about rapists of babies are not strange.

Is Homosexuality a Sexual Preference?

There is widespread belief that homosexuality is a sexual preference issue. Sexual preference means that homosexuality is genetically oriented behavior. In other words, homosexual is attracted sexually by persons of their own sex, while persons of the opposite sex do not attract them or do not attract them so much. Therefore, homosexuality is not learned nor can spread among heterosexuals and consequent you can not promote as a cultural custom. From the foregoing it is concluded that, you must not discriminate against any person making his homosexuality of public knowledge. Public figures who are homosexual, that is, famous sportsmen and athletes, teachers, entertainment artists and figures representing models to follow for children and society in general, can proclaim his homosexuality and express pride and joy for being so, because children and adults in society does not try to imitate them in his homosexuality. A primary school teacher can say to the children from his school that he is gay and that he feels proud of it and it is assumed that he would not be imitated by children who see it as a model to follow. It is assumed that this will be so in virtue of that homosexuality is innate or biological behavior that you can not culturally learn.

That's why homosexuals should be considered as a minority group and be protected by laws of anti discrimination in the same way as individuals who are born with physical impairments or who accidentally acquire the condition are a minority and should be protected by laws against the discrimination.

This perception is doubly wrong. Firstly, homosexuality, although it may be biological, it can also be learned as a cultural custom and, secondly, there are genetic or innate behaviors that cannot be allow. For example, it is know that a part of the conduct and thus the personality of the individual have an innate biological or genetic basis. So there are people who are born with a genetic predisposition to enjoy sexual relations with children called pedophiles, there are others who are born with a genetic predisposition to enjoy own pain and they are called masochistic, there are others who are born with a genetic predisposition to enjoy when they cause pain to others and they are called sadists. There are others who are born with a genetic predisposition to kill themselves and they are called suicidal, there are others who are born with a genetic predisposition not to feel fear because of the danger, and from child exhibit behavior that is known as temerity, there are people who are born with a genetic predisposition to steal and they are called kleptomaniac. Among these last are very wealthy individuals who cannot avoid feeling the compulsive steal momentum. There are people who are born with a genetic predisposition to compulsively play without being able to control; there are people who are born with a genetic predisposition to be alcoholics, etc.

There is no doubt that a large part of the conduct has an innate genetic basis that models the personality of each individual. While the pedophile or the Kleptomaniac or the compulsive gambler feels that momentum that is part of their innate personality and which in many cases may not contain, the society cannot treat these people as minorities and grant them the same status as a person with physical impairments, because these behaviors apart from have an innate predisposition they also have feature be behaviors that you can learn by convenience and spread, damaging the well-being of the collective. Anyone can not learn to be a disabled, nor to be Indian, black, woman or any other minority group. Therefore, given the ethical principle that all human beings are equal, is justified legislate to protect these groups and with them to society in general, against the discrimination. However, it is not wise to generalize this principle so that it justifies or which permitted a teacher pedophile, sadist, Kleptomaniac, player compulsive or alcoholic stand against their students and proclaiming that he feels very proud of it because he was born with that biological inclination. The society has the natural right to regulate the behavior of its members which is detrimental to the collective, although this behavior is determined by innate genetic factors in a minority fraction of the population.

In conclusion, the fact that a minority of the population feel biological or innate attraction to people of the same sex and the fact that you give to that condition the name of 'sexual preference' does not imply that homosexuality as behavior will not be culturally transmitted or learned and therefore harmful to society. As a result, homosexuality is not a matter of sexual preference since this depends also on the learning

Can Sexual preference be the Base so that the Homosexual Behavior is an Individual Decision or is the Homosexual conduct a collective Decision?

Should the sexual preference of each person be the basis to legitimize and legalize homosexual behavior?

Homosexuality as a behavior is not an individual but collective decision. We can't decide individually whether we want to or not practicing homosexual behavior, because at the end, in the long term, all will be exhibiting the same behavior as either homosexual or heterosexual depending on the cultural values that are instilled.

Sexual behavior, apart from that you can have an innate or biological origin has also a sociological origin that is learned. Sexual behavior is learned through the teaching of the basic social values of culture.

Consequently, society cannot leave free will decision of practicing homosexuality because in the short term would be an individual decision, but in the long term, after 4 or 5 generations, would be a collective decision, where homosexuality is generalization as behavior.

Decisions about sexual behavior that have people aren't likely to be individualized because, by their nature, they are collective decisions. In other words, those behaviors may not be individualized because in the long term they defined collective behavior. For example, the pedophile behavior is rejected by the vast majority of the population. That rejection is not due to that people cannot derive pleasure from sexual intercourse with children, but it is due to social values installed in the psyche of people condemn such as bad conduct. Consequently, violation of the installed value produces or active in individuals the emotion shame and is that unpleasant emotion which prevents it from acting that way to the people and not their sexual preference on children. However, what if that value of the psyche of the members of the society will live and be replaced by the value that is good and right to have sex with children? and what if a law were passed legalizing sex with children? Would happen as follows: in the short term, given by the first generation, this new valuation of pedophile behaviour and this new law will only determine the behaviour of pedophile. I.e., the rest of the people in that first generation in that society would still have the same value instilled in them since they were children with regard to pedophilia and feel the emotion shame to exercise this sexual behavior with a child. However, in the long term, after multiple generations that would grow in such a society where not be instilled in them that value, pedophile behaviour is generalization in the majority of people.

In other words, as we saw in the previous topic, human sexuality physiological bases allow getting pleasure and sexual gratification from multiple sources, among which are sexual relations with children. Consequently, at the time that the social value "sexual relations with children are evil and abominable" be out removed from the population and replaced by the value that such relations are good and correct, it will happen that after 4-5 generation the pedophile behavior will be generalize.

It is therefore an error to accept the thesis of the homosexual groups in the sense that homosexual behavior is a matter of sexual preference and, as such, an individual decision that should not be condemned or valuing as a misconduct. Not valorize as bad or negative homosexual behavior entails a collective decision on the practice of such conduct. That is, it implies a change in the values of that culture and therefore in what that culture taught and passed on from one generation to another. Once is accepted homosexual conduct as good or correct is a matter of time so that all who incorporate the new value in the new generations takes the same decision.

Are the Homosexuals a Minority Group?

There are legitimate minorities, such as different racial or ethnic groups or disabled people or, in the case of gender, women, etc. which justifies that State (courts, leaders, legislators) will act to protect them from the discrimination. This intervention is justified because the discrimination away to the society of being an egalitarian, as established in the Constitution of that society.

What defines these groups as minorities is not a behavior or conduct, but one or more characteristics in common that possess all the members who belong to ethnic minorities and which have nothing to do with a behavior or way of behaving. The behavior of individuals in society is something that is governed by the system of values which is established by the culture of that society. Those social values applies to the regulation of all human behaviors including those genetically oriented as they are behaviors that meet the sexual needs of individuals in society.

Society has the natural right to define the life or coexistence within it. In other words, the right to determine how that its members will have to satisfy their sexual needs, the way should be approached or courting their partners for sex, the form which will be have the basic unit of cultural values reproduction from one generation to another and who is denominate or called as the family, etc..

The definition of marriage between a man and a woman is at the same time a definition of what will be the basic unit of reproduce the social values and therefore how to reproduce the same society from generation to generation. The definition of marriage cannot be changed to include the relations between people of the same sex without thereby altering the basic unit of reproduction of the values of society and consequently altering the very nature of the society.

Society sets the value that sex with children is forbidden, no matter whether such conduct has genetic orientation in some people if it is learned. Similarly prohibits the homosexual and incestuous behavior. Therefore, a minority cannot be defined on a behavioral feature or human behavior because the regulation of conduct or behavior is something which is consubstantial and inherent to the same formation of life in society. Impose upon society different values is equivalent in effect to change and transform the nature of that society. A society may be religious or secular nature, of heterosexual or homosexual nature, but will always be defined by the system of values that are enacted and which are reproduced from generation to generation.

If the society through the courts and their Presidents established new rules of conduct, i.e., new social values that homosexual behavior is not bad it will be conducting at the same time that society to suffer a change or transition from a life in society with rules (values) heterosexual to life in society with rules (values) gay. That transition will not occur suddenly, but in the long term. At first the two sets of values (heterosexual and homosexual) co-exist but then with the passing of time the new generations will not feel shame nor any adverse emotion practicing homosexual relations. When this happens will be completed the transition of a country from heterosexual country or society to homosexual country or society.

We can establish an analogy between the pedophile and the pederast with homosexual by biological orientation and homosexual by learning.

The pedophile is defined as that adult, usually older than 18, that can only feel sexual arousal with pre-pubic-age children, under the age of 13 (usually between 8 to 12 years, although there have been cases of individuals who are sexually attracted by children of only 3 years). The pederast is defined as the adult who has sexual intercourse with children under the age of 13 years. A pedophile becomes pederast when he passes with children sexual arousal to sexual intercourse with children.

A pedophile doesn't have to be a pederast and a pederast doesn't have to be a pedophile. A large proportion of the population of pederast are not pedophiles. In other words, unlike the pedophile that only feel sexual attraction to children, the child molester or pederast who is not a pedophile can feel sexual attraction for adults and be a person married with a normal and satisfactory marital life. However, if he have the opportunity to have sex with a child without being discovered and punished he will leverage the occasion.

Consequently, we can say that the pedophile is an individual with a sexual preference for children in the same way that biologically oriented homosexual is an individual with a sexual orientation towards persons of the same genre.

The pederast who is not a pedophile, on the other hand, can be a perfectly normal person in terms of their sexual orientation, but given that he do not have the installed value that "sexual relations with children are bad" he can enjoy that kind of intercourse with children always that he be provided with the opportunity to do so without being punished.

In consequence, we can say that the pederast who is not a pedophile and that does not have installed the value that "sexual relations with children are bad" is an individual who practices sexual relations with children for learning, in the same way as heterosexual who has not installed the value that "homosexuality is bad" and, therefore, do not feel ashamed of having homosexual relations, is homosexual by learning.

Is hereby understood that the fact that a proportion of the population is pedophile, that is, they are people who are biologically oriented to only gain sex pleasure with children, not may imply that the society is obliged to treat these people as a minority group and allow them the acceptance of their behavior as correct and by granting him the right to hold intercourse with children without they can be rejected or discriminated against by the rest of society. Neither can be reason for society allow and legalize the marriage of an adult with a child.

Is hereby understood that the fact that a proportion of the population is biologically homosexual, that is, they are people who are biologically oriented to only gain pleasure sex with people of the same genre, not may imply that the society is obliged to treat these people as a minority group and allow them the acceptance of his behavior by granting him the right to hold intercourse with people of his same gender without they can be rejected or discriminated against by the rest of society. Neither can be reason for society allow and legalize the marriage of a homosexual with another homosexual. However, that is exactly what has been done when it has been legislated and established jurisprudence to criminalize possession of values in people against homosexual behavior and legalizing same-sex marriage.

In conclusion, there are minorities which are not legitimate because they are defined in relation to a human behavior, such as pedophiles, the kleptomaniac, alcoholic, compulsive players, etc. and therefore it is not justified that the State acts to protect them against the natural discrimination of the society that has valued such as bad conduct.

The Basic Unit of Reproduction of the System of Values in Society is the Marriage Between a Man and a Woman

In Western culture, marriage is between a man and a woman. This is a moral value in Western culture. The society has the natural right to determine what is moral (i.e. socially acceptable behavior) and the State which violates that right can easily fall into anarchy, social anomie and degeneration.

Let's look at an example. If the Government legalizes marriage between two men or two women, the basic unit of reproduction of the system of values in society changes and thus their values that are there will transmit or disseminate from one generation to another. The child will learn from the example of their male parents or women parents the sexual behaviors that are acceptable and therefore can follow or practice without being rejected or deprecated.

More important still is the evolution of this phenomenon in the future. If it establishes that the family as basic unit of reproduction of social values on permissible sexual behavior may consist of marriage between two men or two women is a matter of time that society be wondering why that may not be joined between three or more man or three or more women. Why not between a man with several women or a woman with several men. There are societies where polygamy is the norm or rule. Why we are monogamist and not polygamies societies? The reasons why Western societies evolved towards monogamy instead of polygamy are lost in the anthropological history of humanity but not for that reason must presume that they did not exist.

Social values are defined as behaviors that when all members of society practice them the benefit is generated to the collective welfare and when nobody practices them result in the loss of that welfare. If we throw away the value of that marriage is between a man and a woman to be replaced by the value of that marriage is between two people of either sex, is a matter of time before would be establish the polygamous marriage between multiple people whether they be of the same-sex or different sex combinations.

How values are instill and installed? That is the issue that is discussed in the next articles under the menu: "Homosexual Theory: Theory of Values: What are Social Values?".
